Part‑Time Tuition Assistance Program
The Part‑Time Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) is a grant for students enrolled part‑time
(i.e., taking fewer than 12 credits, but at least 3 credits) in an approved undergraduate
program. It is pro-rated based on credit load.
Eligibility Criteria
- Enrollment: 3 to 11 credits per semester (semesters),
- Must be a matriculated student in a degree‑granting program,
- Maintain a cumulative “C” average—good academic standing is mandatory,
- New York State (NYS) residency: Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen and
have resided in New York State continuously for at least 12 months, or be eligible
under the NYS DREAM Act.
- Income limits (Academic Year 2024‑25 and likely beyond):
- Dependent students: NYS net taxable income ≤ $125,000
- Independent married (no dependents): ≤ $60,000
- Independent single (no dependents): ≤ $30,000
- Be in good financial standing—not in default on student loans or NYS awards
