General Education for Bachelor's Degree at State University of New York (SUNY)

Students considering or planning to transfer to a SUNY four year college or university to complete the bachelor's degree must select their general education courses to fulfill the Nassau Community College requirements for such courses as listed above, as well as the SUNY General Education Requirements (SUNY GER) listed below. In some cases a course satisfying the NCC requirement will also satisfy a similar SUNY requirement. These courses are grouped within the SUNY categories listed below and are designated in the Course Descriptions section of this catalog with the corresponding codes.

The fulfillment of at least seven of these categories is required to transfer to a SUNY four year college or university. The Helpful Tools section of the Academic Advisement Center webpage provides instructions on how to search in the MyNCC Portal for courses within the SUNY GER categories.
